Microsoft Reaches Agreement on AI Privacy After Cyber Security Lapses

A Cyber Safety Review Board report has revealed lapses by Microsoft that led to a targeted Chinese hack last year of top U.S. government officials' email, including Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's account.

The report, which details the security breaches, was released in April 2024 and identified vulnerabilities in Microsoft's systems that allowed hackers to gain access to sensitive information.

In response to the report, a teachers union has reached an agreement with Microsoft regarding AI privacy. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but it is seen as a step towards greater transparency and security for users of Microsoft's AI technology.
