Microsoft Reveals Azure Earnings, Shifts Financial Reporting

Microsoft has adjusted its financial reporting practices to give investors more transparency into its Azure cloud earnings. The company revealed that its Azure-specific income for the most recent quarter was $29.42 billion, and $101.94 billion for the full fiscal year of 2026.

This represents a significant increase from the previous year's figures, which stood at $20.7 billion and $72.6 billion respectively. The company's earnings results were originally posted in late July, during which its intelligent cloud division, which includes Azure, reported $39.3 billion.

For comparison, Amazon Web Services (AWS) brought in $42.2 billion for the most recent quarter, while Google's cloud revenue was $24.8 billion. Going forward, Microsoft will report earnings split into two segments: Agents and Infra, which includes apps, agents, Microsoft 365, and Azure, and Devices and Consumer, which includes search, advertising, Xbox, and Windows.
