Microsoft Rolls Out New Windows Insider Program Builds with Personalization Enhancements
Microsoft has released two new builds to the Windows Insider Program's Beta (26H1) and Experimental (26H1) channels. The new builds, 28020.2818 for Beta and 28120.2824 for Experimental, offer a mix of personalization improvements, reliability enhancements, and bug fixes.
One notable change is the addition of DIB image support for desktop backgrounds, as well as improved functionality for using a slideshow on multiple displays. The Windows Recovery Environment (WRE) has also been enhanced with a new networking capability that allows it to automatically reuse eligible Wi-Fi profiles saved in Windows 11.
In contrast, Microsoft has temporarily removed the modernized Print Management experience from Experimental builds to refine it based on user feedback. However, users can still access the normal Print Management tools until the updated experience is reintroduced in a future build.
