Microsoft Scrubs 32GB RAM Recommendation from Learning Center

Microsoft has quietly removed its recommendation for 32GB of RAM as the ideal amount for a smooth Windows 11 experience, especially for gamers. The company had suggested this configuration in articles on its Learning Center, but these pages are now redirecting to the homepage.

The removal of these recommendations comes at a time when memory prices are high and many buyers may find it difficult to afford 32GB kits. Interestingly, Microsoft has released several devices with only 8GB of RAM as the base configuration in recent times, including the Surface Pro 12, Surface Laptop 13, and Surface Laptop for Business.

Despite removing the recommendations, Microsoft's official minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11 remain unchanged, listing 4GB of RAM as the minimum needed to install the operating system. However, most users agree that Windows 11 runs much better with more memory, especially if multiple apps or browser tabs are open at the same time.

Microsoft hasn't officially commented on why the Learning Center articles were removed, but it seems the company is moving away from promoting 32GB as the recommended configuration for Windows users, even gamers.
