Microsoft's Surface Laptop line is due for an upgrade, and new benchmark test results have confirmed that a new model is on its way. The unreleased Surface Laptop 8th Edition has been spotted in Geekbench 6 listings, which revealed its specs: a high-end Intel Core Ultra X7 368H chip with Arc B390 graphics and 32GB of RAM.

The laptop's performance was comparable to other newer Windows laptops powered by the slightly lesser Core Ultra X7 358H chip. However, in multi-core scenarios like video editing, it matched the M5 MacBook Air's scores.

Microsoft hasn't confirmed any new Surface PCs for 2026 yet, but the price hikes announced earlier this month suggest that changes are coming. The company cited 'recent increases in memory and component costs' as the reason for the price hikes.
