Microsoft Tackles Hours-Long Outlook Outage with Remediation Strategy
Microsoft is working on resolving an hours-long outage that affected Outlook and Exchange Online users. The company reported delays and disruptions in sending and receiving emails, authentication issues, and problems with other mail platform functions.
An issue was identified in an authentication component, leading to the problem. Microsoft is testing a possible remediation strategy on part of its infrastructure to determine whether it will help resolve the issue.
According to TechCrunch, user reports began arriving at about 11:30 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time on Monday, with more than 5,000 reports of problems as of 2:00 p.m. Users also complained about issues on social network X.
