Microsoft Taps Caroline Foo to Lead Philippines Business Amidst AI Boom
Microsoft has appointed Caroline Foo as country general manager for the Philippines, aiming to accelerate AI and cloud adoption in the market.
Foo takes on this new role from her previous position as enterprise commercial director for ASEAN, where she led commercial and sales organisations across the region. Her experience spans over 25 years in technology leadership and includes working closely with Microsoft’s customers and partners across Southeast Asia.
In her new role, Foo will lead Microsoft’s Philippines business, focusing on turning the country's growing AI momentum into broader enterprise transformation. She will help organisations scale AI across their operations, expand AI skills development, and support responsible adoption through secure and well-governed technology foundations.
The company pointed out that 25% of Filipino workers qualify as 'Frontier Professionals' - its most advanced category of AI users - compared with a global average of 16%. Foo expressed her optimism about the Philippines’ AI opportunity, noting that organisations are approaching the technology with thoughtfulness and a genuine desire to harness it for human potential.
