A Microsoft Teams outage on August 26 disrupted meetings and screen sharing for users. The issue affected multiple features of the service, causing difficulties in creating and joining teams meetings. Some users reported problems with screen sharing, even after successfully joining a meeting.

According to ITmedia, Japanese users began posting about these issues shortly after 9:00 a.m. local time. One-on-one calls were still functional, suggesting that the problem was specific to meeting-related services rather than a complete failure of the Teams client.

Microsoft confirmed the disruption and stated that engineers had halted maintenance activity that had an unintended impact on the service in the Asia-Pacific region. The company reported that monitoring indicated the issue had largely been mitigated, but continued to monitor for another 15 to 30 minutes to ensure stability.
