Microsoft Teams Phishing Scam Targets Organizations
The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) has issued a warning about an ongoing phishing scam targeting organizations through Microsoft Teams voice calls.
The scammers are impersonating IT support and claiming that the recipient's computer has been compromised, suspicious activity has been detected on their account, or that a security incident requires immediate action.
They may also claim that software updates or security tools need to be installed, or that the recipient's password needs to be reset urgently.
However, legitimate IT personnel will never ask for passwords, MFA codes, or request remote access without following established support procedures.
