Microsoft Tries to Rebuild Trust with New AI Privacy Deal for Schools

A Cyber Safety Review Board report has revealed lapses by Microsoft that led to a targeted Chinese hack last year of top U.S. government officials' email, including Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's.

The hack was detailed in the board's report, which highlighted weaknesses in Microsoft's systems that allowed attackers to gain access to sensitive information.

A recent agreement between the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and Microsoft aims to address these issues through a new AI privacy agreement. The deal is expected to improve data security for students and educators who use Microsoft products, such as Office 365.
