Microsoft Unifies Copilot Features in Single App
Microsoft is finally consolidating its Copilot features into one unified app. The company has been adding, removing, and re-adding Copilot to various platforms for years.
The new app combines the standalone Copilot app and Microsoft 365 Copilot, preserving chat and image tools while adding direct access to Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 apps and files.
Group Chat, Podcasts, and Deep Research will be retired for consumers starting August 18. Existing content can still be downloaded beforehand.
The unified app will handle personal, work, and school accounts separately for data purposes. Free users will have basic chat and image creation capabilities, while Microsoft 365 subscribers will have higher limits and more advanced tools.
