Microsoft Unveils Agentic Commerce Blueprint Amid Growing AI-Powered Shopping Trend
Microsoft has released an agentic commerce blueprint to help businesses and retailers prepare for AI agents making purchases on behalf of humans. The 'Agentic Playbook' focuses on three priorities: getting discovered by the agent, ensuring a seamless purchase, and optimizing performance.
The first 45 days of the plan is about building the foundation, including ensuring product feeds are ready and checkout is seamless. The second 45 days involves using that information to optimize content.
Microsoft's Copilot runs on the Universal Commerce Protocol (UPC), which connects it with retail partners like Target, Ulta Beauty, and Stripe. UPC founding partners include Google and Shopify.
