Microsoft Unveils AI-Powered Tool to Streamline Salesforce Migrations
Microsoft has introduced Dynamics 365 Activate, an AI-powered tool designed to accelerate migrations to Dynamics 365. The public preview focuses on organizations migrating from Salesforce, with ERP scenarios set to follow later this year. In early customer implementations, the tool has already processed more than six billion data records.
The company aims to help partners and customers switch faster, with less manual work and lower migration risk. Activate analyzes an existing Salesforce environment, maps out data, business processes, customizations, and dependencies, and generates configurations for partially automated migration. This reduces the time spent on discovery and analysis by implementation partners.
Microsoft envisions three paths for Activate: starting from scratch, migrating from a known source, and expanding for existing Dynamics 365 customers who are adding a new application, region, or business unit. The roadmap includes features such as agentic mapping, test sampling, natural-language migration guidance, and executive summaries.
