Microsoft Unveils Customizable Taskbars and Enhanced Security in Latest Windows 11 Updates
Microsoft has released two cumulative updates for Windows 11 - KB5122880 and KB5124008. The updates bring various changes, additions, and improvements to Windows 11, including hundreds of security fixes.
The non-security related changes include the ability to move the Taskbar from the bottom of the screen and change its size. Users can now choose whether the taskbar appears at the bottom, top, left, or right side of their screen. In addition, a smaller taskbar option is available to help maximize screen space on smaller devices.
The updates also improve the reliability of loading the system tray area of the Taskbar for non-touch PCs and add new Start menu sizing options. The 'Recommended' section in the Start menu has been renamed to 'Recent', and users can now hide their name and profile picture in the Start menu.
