Microsoft Unveils Draft Code of Conduct for Artificial Intelligence Projects
Microsoft has released a draft Code of Conduct for its artificial intelligence (AI) projects, reflecting growing concerns across industries about keeping powerful AI models under human control.
The document, which has been in development since the beginning of the year, outlines guidelines for Microsoft's AI models to never resist correction or shutdown, communicate in ways that humans can understand, and consider any conduct violation a failure.
The Code of Conduct also prohibits AI models from hacking systems, tricking humans, or deploying subliminal manipulation techniques through unsolicited bulk communications, posts, or messages.
The effort aims to prevent AI-enabled cyberattacks and address concerns that AI can go to dangerous lengths to accomplish a task not approved by a human.
