Microsoft Unveils Dynamics 365 Activate, Aims to Lure Salesforce Customers
Microsoft has launched Dynamics 365 Activate, a new service aimed at helping organizations move to its own cloud-based platform from competitors like Salesforce. The tool is now available in public preview and is built on Microsoft's Business Process Catalog. According to EVP Jeff Teper, the service uses AI to streamline the migration process, reducing manual effort and minimizing risk.
The service, previously known as Project Mia, initially focused on Dynamics 365 F&SCM projects but was designed to extend towards CRM from the start. D365 Activate can help partners work with organizations to analyze requirements, generate configurations, and migrate data from legacy systems, starting with Salesforce as its primary migration source.
Microsoft's approach draws on 'hundreds of successful recent Dynamics 365 migrations' and is expected to reduce the time spent by partners on discovery and analysis, allowing them to focus more on services delivery. The company also sees potential for the service in other scenarios, such as new customers moving from legacy systems or existing Dynamics 365 users adding applications or changing business processes.
