Microsoft Unveils Project Zenith: A Developer-Focused Windows Experience
Microsoft has unveiled Project Zenith, a developer-focused Windows experience designed to offer a ready-to-code and distraction-free environment for developers. This new experience is tailored to run models with more than 30 billion parameters locally without metered usage.
The project is part of Microsoft's broader push to improve Windows as a platform for software developers. It aims to provide powerful systems that are preconfigured for modern development, giving developers a choice of devices and performance tiers while maintaining a consistent ready-to-code experience.
Project Zenith comes with a preconfigured Windows setup and a collection of development tools covering programming languages and runtimes, source control, and productivity tools. It also includes Windows Terminal and Visual Studio Code pinned to the taskbar by default for immediate access to commonly used tools.
