Microsoft Unveils Service to Digitize Old Xbox Games on Disc

Microsoft has unveiled a new feature that allows users to digitize their old Xbox games on disc. The service, which is currently available to members of the Xbox Insiders program, lets players claim a digital entitlement by inserting a supported disc into an Xbox One or Xbox Series X console and launching the game.

The feature supports most Xbox One and Xbox Series X disc-based games, with thousands of titles from the original Xbox and Xbox 360 also included. However, not all games will be available at launch, with more to be added in the future.

Once a digital entitlement is claimed, users can enjoy their classic games on any device that supports Xbox Play Anywhere, including PC, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally, and various Xbox consoles. The feature also includes access to Xbox Cloud Gaming where supported.
