Microsoft Unveils Unattended Remote Support for Windows Devices
Microsoft has enhanced its Remote Help feature to include unattended support for Windows devices. This new capability allows IT administrators to remotely sign in and manage devices without a user's presence.
The addition of unattended support is designed to simplify maintenance tasks for shared devices, kiosks, and systems that require after-hours troubleshooting. Authorized help desk personnel can now access remote assistance permissions, ensuring visibility and accountability around unattended sessions.
Intune's role-based access controls, session isolation, reporting, and auditing strengthen security for unattended remote support sessions. This feature is part of the Microsoft Intune Suite and is also available as a standalone add-on. Device requirements and dedicated role-based access control (RBAC) permissions are outlined.
