Microsoft's Blizzard Studio Roars Ahead Amid Xbox Restructuring
Blizzard Entertainment has emerged as one of Microsoft's top-performing studios, thanks to the success of Diablo 4 and Overwatch. In a leaked internal email, Blizzard President Johanna Faries praised the studio's exceptional performance over the past year, which ended with a third-highest fiscal revenue in the company's history.
The email attributed the strong results to Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred and Overwatch, which delivered its strongest quarter since 2022. Faries also expressed hopes that BlizzCon would showcase the studio's work and serve as a catalyst for future momentum and excitement.
This news comes amidst Microsoft's restructuring efforts, which have resulted in significant layoffs across various studios. The company has implemented over 1,600 immediate layoffs and plans to cut an additional 1,600 jobs by next summer.
