Microsoft's Foldable Dream from 2009: A Glimpse of What Could Have Been

Microsoft developed a prototype for a dual-screen device called the Microsoft Courier in 2009. Although it never made it to market, the concept video shows a device with an integrated user interface that bears a striking resemblance to modern foldable smartphones.

The Courier's design featured two screens connected by a hinge, allowing users to drag and drop content between apps in real-time. This capability is now a standard feature on many devices, including Apple's iPhones.

Microsoft ultimately abandoned the project less than a year after its conception, but some of the ideas were later incorporated into its Surface products.
