Microsoft's Game Pass Revamp: Price Drop and Major Changes Ahead
A rumor circulating online suggests that Microsoft is planning to revamp its Game Pass subscription model. According to ResetEra moderator Slayven, the price of the ad-free tier will drop from $22.99 to $19.99 per month or $239.99 annually.
The proposed changes also include a new service with ads for $12.99 a month and a separate cloud gaming add-on bundle costing $5.99 for 25 hours, with an additional $5.99 monthly fee for family plans.
New games will no longer be released on day one, and online multiplayer access will become its own subscription for $10.99 per month. Microsoft has already begun decoupling new Call of Duty releases from Game Pass.
The rumor comes with a 75% confidence level, according to the source's credibility assessment. Insider Nate the Hate chimed in on the ResetEra thread, suggesting that Slayven had previously shared accurate information about tier changes in late 2025.
