Microsoft's Project Helix Expands Beyond Next-Gen Console
Microsoft's next-generation gaming project, codenamed Project Helix, has taken an unexpected turn. Initially presented as a single console, Asha Sharma, CEO of the Xbox division, revealed that it will be a 'product family' instead.
This shift in strategy aligns with Microsoft's partnership with AMD, which covers a broad product portfolio. The upcoming console is already under development and will use custom AMD components, supporting both console and PC games.
The dual compatibility aims to streamline content creation and maximize game adoption across platforms. Jason Ronald, Xbox VP, stated that alpha versions of Project Helix products will be delivered to developers in 2027.
