Military Hauler Turned Luxury Camper Truck Hits the Auction Block
The ACELA MONTERRA GL 4×4, built by Krug Expedition, is an expedition truck turned luxury camper that's currently up for auction. This rugged vehicle was originally designed as a military hauler, but has been transformed into a fully functional home on wheels.
With a Caterpillar 7.2 liter inline six turbodiesel engine producing 330 horsepower and 860 lb ft torque, this truck can handle even the toughest terrain. The power is distributed through an Allison 7-speed automatic with integrated transfer case to all four wheels.
The off-road kit is equally impressive, featuring forty-six inch Goodyear tires on 20-inch wheels providing a massive 22 inches of ground clearance. Additional features include a central tire inflation system, permanent four-wheel drive, auto lock differential, high-speed gearing, and a 30-inch water fording capacity.
The interior is just as impressive, with a double bed, dinette, and Miele oven and induction hob. The bathroom features a real shower and dry separate toilet, while the Vitrifrigo fridge freezer provides ample storage space. A rooftop air conditioner and hydronic heating system provide climate control.
