Missouri Teams Up with Google for Free AI Training Across the State
Missouri has partnered with Google to provide free artificial intelligence and job-skills training to educators, students, and job seekers across the state. The initiative aims to prepare Missouri's workforce for an evolving economy while streamlining administrative workload in classrooms.
Through Google's 'Grow with Google' program, Missourians can access flexible, online courses for Google Career Certificates and specialized Google AI training at no cost by registering online. State agencies will distribute Google for Education AI tools, including Gemini for Education and Gemini Notebook, along with standards-aligned teacher training through the Google AI Educator Series.
The rollout focuses on four key pillars: educator support, customized learning, research and brainstorming, and digital citizenship. For students, this means using AI to automate routine tasks, deliver tailored practice materials, function as a study aid, and teach critical evaluation of AI outputs for accuracy.
State education leaders emphasized local control and data privacy remain top priorities, with local school districts and charter schools retaining full discretion over whether to implement the tools in their classroom. The partnership aims to strengthen personalized learning while teaching students to navigate AI responsibility.
