Missy Higgins Set to Shine at Savannah in the Round Festival
Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins is set to perform at Savannah in the Round festival in Mareeba, Queensland. Higgins expressed her love for playing in Far North Queensland and praised the country-leaning lineup of the festival.
She said that she loves going to Cairns, one of her favorite places in Australia, and was drawn to the festival because it was a bit different from what she's used to. Higgins has played in the area quite a lot throughout her career and is looking forward to her gig at Savannah in the Round.
The multi-ARIA Award-winning artist joins a four-day lineup featuring Icehouse, Don McLean, Tyler Braden, Lee Kernaghan, Ian Moss & Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, San Cisco, Busby Marou and Kingswood. Furnace and the Fundamentals, along with rising country talent Bella Mackenzie, have been added to the program.
Higgins said that putting together festival set lists is a balancing act between familiar songs and newer material. She wants to include older songs that fans know and love, but also newer songs that are 'very fresh' and 'emotionally relevant' to her.
