MIT Bengaluru and IBM Launch Joint AI Lab with Advanced Computing and Research Facilities
MIT Bengaluru and IBM have joined forces to establish an AI lab at the institute, providing students and researchers access to advanced computing systems and AI research facilities. The new lab, named IBM, MIT AI Lab, MAHE Intelligence GPU (MIG), was inaugurated on August 10 and will support work in various areas such as machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and more.
The lab's GPU-based setup can handle up to 30 high-performance computing tasks, giving students and researchers the power they need to tackle complex projects. In addition to providing access to advanced infrastructure, the lab will also offer digital training, internships, hackathons, and innovation programs.
According to Dr. Iven Jose, Director of MIT Bengaluru, the new center will give a strong boost to the university's AI research work. He explained that the facility will provide students and researchers with the high-speed computing power needed to work on difficult AI projects and find solutions to complex problems.
