Mixed Markets as Dow Slips, S&P 500 Rises Amid September Fed Hike Odds Fall to 30%
The U.S. stock market is experiencing mixed results on Monday, as the Dow Jones index slipped and the S&P 500 futures rose.
The Nasdaq 100 and Russell 2000 indexes also saw gains, while the Dow Jones dropped by 0.17%.
This comes after a lower close on Friday's trading session, with energy, utilities, and materials leading the gains in that session.
However, health care and IT lagged behind due to a lower settlement for U.S. stocks.
HIVE Digital Technologies saw its shares rise by 8.92% despite reporting downbeat results for the first quarter, missing analyst consensus estimates on both quarterly losses per share and sales.
Micron Technology Inc. and SanDisk Corp. also saw gains, jumping 3.57% and rising 5.72%, respectively, amid a strong sector-wide rebound driven by insatiable AI infrastructure demand and tightening memory and flash supply constraints.
