U.S. stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with some sectors gaining while others fell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.49% to reach a new all-time high, but the S&P 500 index dropped 0.17%, and the NASDAQ Composite index lost 0.83%.
Amgen Inc led the gainers on the Dow, increasing by 4.57% or $17.83 to close at $407.85.
Meanwhile, Chevron Corp fell 2.10% or $3.99 to trade at $186.41.
