Moderna-Merck Vaccine Shows Promise Against Melanoma Recurrence
A promising new vaccine, called Intismeran, has shown potential in preventing the recurrence of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Developed by Moderna and Merck, this individualized vaccine uses mRNA technology similar to that behind certain coronavirus vaccines.
The companies claim that their vaccine can stop melanoma from returning or spreading, citing Phase 3 trial results. Intismeran is designed to be tailored to each patient based on the unique mutations within their tumors and is being paired with Keytruda in current studies.
