Moderna MRNA Stock Soars on Cancer Therapy Breakthrough
Moderna's MRNA stock has surged 143% in a month due to positive late-stage results for its personalized mRNA-based cancer therapy, intismeran autogene (V940/mRNA-4157), developed in partnership with Merck.
The therapy delivered positive results in high-risk melanoma patients whose tumors had been removed through surgery. When combined with Merck's blockbuster oncology drug Keytruda, the therapy met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival.
Moderna is expanding its respiratory portfolio beyond COVID-19 vaccines, including mResvia for RSV and seasonal influenza vaccine mFlusiva. The company's pipeline includes additional respiratory programs targeting diseases such as bird flu and norovirus.
