The company and partner Merck have not announced an official list price for the therapy, but investment bank William Blair assumed a U.S. wholesale acquisition cost of $475,000 per patient in its valuation model. This figure is based on benchmarking against CAR-T therapies, which are high-value, individualized treatments.

The actual cost to patients may be much lower than $475,000, as this estimate includes discounts, rebates, and insurance payments. Additionally, the treatment consists of up to 9 injections over a year, with each injection costing around $52,800 if mechanically averaged. However, commercial pricing may not be broken down per shot.

Moderna's manufacturing process for Intismeran is highly individualized, with each patient receiving a unique formulation based on their tumor sample. This approach carries significant costs, including raw materials, purity, potency, sterility, and batch traceability verification. Estimates suggest production costs exceed $100,000 per patient.
