Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 on September 17 in New Delhi. The three-day event, which runs until September 19, brings together over 600 exhibitors, including 300 international companies and delegations from more than 40 countries.

The conference is significant for India's semiconductor journey as three of the 12 projects approved under Semicon India Programme have commenced commercial production. The Union Cabinet has also approved Semicon 2.0 with six pillars aimed at accelerating ecosystem development.

Organisers expect leading global and Indian companies to participate, including ASML, Applied Materials, Teradyne, Infineon, Jabil, IBM Research, NXP, Tata Electronics, Micron, Merck KGaA, Rapidus, Lam Research, CG Power, Uno Minda, Advantest, and Tokyo Electron.

India's semiconductor demand is projected to reach approximately $103 billion by 2030, according to government estimates. The global semiconductor market is valued at around $796 billion in 2025 and is expected to surpass $2 trillion by 2030.
