Monarch Butterflies Migrate Thousands of Miles Each Year

Two people, Robert and Hank, are on a road trip in Kansas, when they come across a monarch butterfly perched on Hank's nose. They pause to admire its beauty and discuss their wonder at where butterflies go when they see them flying around.

Robert suggests that they learn more about the monarch butterfly's journey, which is one of the longest migrations made by any insect in the world.

A child named Margaret joins Robert and Hank on the road trip and shares her excitement to learn about dance and time. However, the conversation quickly turns back to butterflies as Robert introduces a game called 'the magic kid-sized chrysalis' where Margaret designs her own butterfly experience.

Margaret imagines herself as a caterpillar that can regenerate parts of its body, including growing back wings if it gets stuck in a spider's net. She also envisions being able to fly and visit her grandma's house.
