Monetta Financial Services Buys Stake in IBM Amid Quantum Computing Push
Monetta Financial Services Inc., an institutional investor, has acquired a new stake in International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), according to its latest SEC filing. The company purchased approximately $984,000 worth of IBM shares, specifically 3,500 units.
This is not the only instance of investment in IBM by Monetta Financial Services; BlackRock Inc. and Bank of America Corp DE have also recently acquired new stakes in the technology giant. Together with other institutional investors and hedge funds, they own around 58.96% of the stock.
IBM has been making significant strides in the field of quantum computing, partnering with Lockheed Martin to establish a quantum innovation hub at ETH Zurich through Switzerland's defense-offset program. The company is also exploring applications for its technology in areas like navigation and advanced materials.
