Monsters, Inc. Land at Disney World Opening in Two Phases
Disney's highly anticipated Monsters, Inc. land at Walt Disney World is getting a head start on its grand opening timeline. The new theme park area, called Monstropolis, will open in two phases. Phase one will debut in 2027 with several attractions, including an indoor theater show called Welcome to Monstropolis. This attraction will feature Mike and Sulley hosting humans for an introduction to the monster world.
The show's storyline takes place after the events of the movie, where monsters are inviting humans into their city on H.U.M.A.N. Day to celebrate their friendship. Randy Newman, who composed the soundtrack for Monsters, Inc., wrote a new song specifically for this attraction called 'Welcome to Monstropolis.'
Monstropolis Phase one will also include Harryhausen's table service restaurant and Archie's Scare Pig Pizza quick service eatery. The land's featured store, Scareporium, will offer souvenirs from the monster world.
