'Monsters Inc' Land at Disney World Opens Early with Suspended Coaster
The 'Monsters, Inc.'-themed land at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios will open earlier than planned, debuting next year. This is a change from the original announcement made in 2024.
The land will feature Disney's first suspended coaster, a ride through the movie's iconic door factory. The concept art revealed on stage at D23 showed a city of Monstropolis with various neighborhoods, including Old Town Monstropolis and Frightening Heights.
The Monsters, Inc.-themed land replaces Muppet Courtyard, which was home to Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3D and the PizzeRizzo restaurant. The closure of Muppet Vision 3D was confirmed in November 2024 after several months of speculation.
