Monstropolis Brings Beloved Monsters to Life at Hollywood Studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios is getting a new addition in 2027 - a 'Monsters, Inc.' themed land called Monstropolis. The expansion will feature Disney's first-ever suspended roller coaster, which mimics the iconic door vault sequence from the film franchise.

The coaster launch mechanism will carry guests 40 feet high in four seconds using vehicle contraptions designed to combine laughter and screams.

Alongside the coaster, Monstropolis will include a new theater experience developed by Pixar and Industrial Light & Magic. The attraction pairs high-definition panels with physical characters, optical illusions, and an original song written by composer Randy Newman.
