Monstropolis Construction Update: Entrance, Globe Theater, and Suspended Coaster Take Shape
The highly anticipated Monstropolis land in Hollywood Studios is slowly taking shape. Construction has been underway for years, and recent updates show significant progress.
According to Bioreconstruct, the entrance of the land is becoming more noticeable with the addition of archways. These archways will feature monster-like gargoyles and pointed teeth, matching the concept art provided by Disney.
The Glob Theater, home to the 'Welcome to Monstropolis Show', is also being constructed. In front of the theater, pipework for a fountain has been laid out, which will replace the Miss Piggy Fountain. The massive building housing the main attraction, a suspended coaster, is growing quickly.
The coaster will be Disney's first suspended coaster and will feature high ceilings. Track supports have been installed, with the tallest being for a swoop of ride routing through this space. The ride will also lift riders 40 feet into the air in 4 seconds to kick off the experience.
