Monstropolis Doors Open to Humans in 2027

Monstropolis is coming to life at Disney's Hollywood Studios, with parts of the land set to open in 2027. This is according to a recent announcement from Disney during the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The opening timeframe was confirmed as 2027, but it's worth noting that not all aspects of Monstropolis will be available at this time.

The Monsters, Inc.-themed land has been under construction in the former Muppets Courtyard area, and guests can now see structural steel rising behind the walls. The new land is being transformed into a functioning city, complete with its own Department of Human Relations, which was established after Mike and Sulley's discovery that laughter is more powerful than screams.

As part of the initial opening in 2027, guests will be able to experience several new attractions, including a show at the Glob Theater called 'Welcome to Monstropolis.' This production will feature a brand-new song written by Disney Legend Randy Newman. The Glob Theater will also be home to the new Monsters, Inc. show.

Additionally, two new dining locations are planned for the land: Harryhausen's Restaurant and Archie's Scare Pig Pizza. Harryhausen's will offer a unique menu that is unlike anything currently available at Walt Disney World, while Archie's will provide a casual spot for guests to grab a slice of pizza.
