Monstropolis Doors Open to Humans in 2027: A New Era for Walt Disney World

Disney's highly anticipated Monstropolis land is set to open in 2027 at Walt Disney World, bringing the world of Monsters, Inc. to life for guests. The land will feature a new story that picks up after the events of the beloved film, where humans are now invited to visit the monster-filled city.

The city has made a historic decision to welcome humans into its world, and a new team called the Department of Human Relations has been established to help monsters better understand humans as welcomed guests. The H.U.M.A.N. Day Celebration will mark this milestone, introducing humans to life inside Monstropolis while helping monsters discover that humans are not so frightening after all.

The land will feature iconic stops such as Harryhausen's restaurant, where Mike and Celia had their memorable date in Monsters, Inc., which will be turned into a full dining location with an entirely new menu. The Glob Theater will also welcome humans, featuring a new stage show called Welcome to Monstropolis, with a song composed by Randy Newman.
