Monstropolis Partially Opens in 2027, Suspended Coaster Delayed
Disney has confirmed that its new Monsters Inc.-themed land at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be partially opening in 2027, but not as soon as fans might hope. The company revealed that while most of Monstropolis will debut in 2027, the massive suspended door coaster will arrive later.
This means that guests can walk through the rest of the land before riding through the door vault, which is part of the Monsters Inc. factory and features a vertical lift. Other parts of Monstropolis, including The Glob and Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, are also being renovated to fit with the new theme.
New aerial photos show that significant construction remains to be done on the land, but Disney has plenty of time to finish it before the 2027 opening. Fans can expect to see more details about the exact date and experience in the coming months.
