Monstropolis Takes Shape at Walt Disney World

Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida will soon welcome a new themed land called Monstropolis. The announcement was made during the D23 event, and it is set to open in 2027. One of the most anticipated features of this new land will be the stage show 'Welcome to Monstropolis', which will feature characters like Mike and Sulley.

The show's story revolves around humans entering the world of Monstropolis, highlighting how similar monsters and humans really are. The show is set to include a new song by Randy Newman. In addition to the stage show, visitors can also enjoy two restaurants, a souvenir shop, and the Glob Theater.

Monstropolis was first announced two years ago, but it seems that some features have been delayed. The 'Door Coaster', based on the Door Warehouse in Monsters Inc., will not open with the rest of the land in 2027. Instead, it is set to open at a later date.

The area that Monstropolis is being built in used to host a now-closed Muppets show. The new land will feature two restaurants: Archie's Scare Pig Pizza and Harryhausen, which serves sushi. A big animatronic of the octopus from the original movie will also be on display.
