Moonshot AI Seeks Up to 30% Revenue Share with Microsoft, Amazon, Google
Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI is reportedly in talks with major cloud providers over revenue-sharing agreements for its Kimi K3 model. According to a Reuters report, the talks involve Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), and Alphabet's Google (GOOGL), which could host the model on their cloud platforms.
The proposed terms would see Moonshot receive up to 30% of revenue generated from K3-related services running on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud. The talks are still in the early stages, with unresolved issues including revenue splits, data access, and token-usage auditing.
Moonshot faces scrutiny from U.S. officials over allegations involving AI model distillation and access to Nvidia chips. The company has denied using distillation and attributed K3's gains to changes in its underlying architecture.
