Morgan State University Partners with Google to Build Next-Generation AI Campus
Morgan State University has announced a collaboration with Google Public Sector to build a next-generation AI-driven research campus. This partnership aims to transform the university into a premier technology hub for students, educators, and researchers.
The collaboration is made possible through Google's Program for Accelerated Research (GPAR), which provides high-performance GPU compute resources to faculty and students. This infrastructure will enable increasingly sophisticated work in AI, cybersecurity, climate science, health sciences, and other rapidly evolving industries.
Morgan State aims to secure Carnegie R1 classification by expanding its research capabilities. This status would position the university to unlock vital federal funding, attract top talent, and advance equity in academic research. The collaboration also complements Morgan's Obsidian AI platform, which is developed by in-house researchers and maintains complete control over governance, security, and accountability.
