Moroccan Engineer Recreates Boeing Cockpit Simulator After Two Decades

A remarkable achievement in Morocco's growing aerospace industry has been accomplished by Abdelkrim Hachadi, an engineer and aviation enthusiast. Over two decades, he meticulously recreated a Boeing 737 Next Generation cockpit in his living room-turned-laboratory in Rabat.

Hachadi devoted countless hours to the project, often working through sleepless nights and holidays. He even built a new room for the simulator when it arrived from France, where it had been stored in crates for an extended period.

The result is an ultra-realistic replica of the cockpit, complete with backlit controls, flight instruments, checklists, and systems. The lockdown during COVID-19 provided a boost to the project, allowing Hachadi to finish building the cabin.

Today, professional pilots from airlines use the simulator to prepare for proficiency tests and practice emergency scenarios. With 155 companies, 27,000 jobs, 42% local integration, and $3 billion in exports, Morocco's aerospace industry is expanding rapidly.
