Crestview Army veteran Staff Sgt. Christopher Williams finally has a mortgage-free home after years of military service and a difficult transition back to civilian life.

The home, made possible through 'Building Homes for Heroes' and JPMorgan Chase, marks a major milestone for the organization as its 478th home and a step closer to its goal of 500 homes in December.

Williams enlisted in 2006 and served eight years, including three overseas deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He was medically discharged in 2015 due to lasting injuries from his service, including a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and severe physical injuries.

The home's mortgage-free status is expected to bring added stability for the future of Williams and his family. 'It's been slightly overwhelming,' Williams said. 'I didn't really expect as much as it was.'
