Mueller's Legacy Lives On: Beloved Husband, Father, and Educator Leaves Behind Lasting Impact
Wayne Mueller, a devoted husband and father of seven grandchildren, passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Born in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin, to Viola and Edward Mueller, Wayne grew up with two brothers and two sisters. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School and New Holstein High School, where he met his future wife Margie Konen.
Margie was an excellent student and captain of the cheerleading team, while Wayne excelled in all four sports, earning nine letters and helping his team win the 1965 Wisconsin State Baseball Championship. After graduating from high school, Wayne achieved Eagle Scout status at age 16 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, where he graduated with a degree in Business & Marketing.
Wayne's career spanned over five decades, including stints at Litton Industries, IBM, and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He was nominated for the Harvard Executive Management Program and received his MBA from St. Thomas University. Wayne was also an accomplished golfer, playing Pebble Beach nine times and breaking 80 on both courses.
