Muncaster Castle Hosts Muddy Mayhem as Race the Tide Promotes West Cumbria Tourism
Race the Tide, held at Muncaster Castle in West Cumbria, drew hundreds of visitors for its muddy mayhem and adventure. The event featured a 10k obstacle course filled with mud, water, and challenges, which saw 246 runners tackle the terrain in fancy dress.
The oversized Hungry Caterpillar costume stood out among the runners, taking home the Best Dressed prize while completing the course in style. However, beyond the excitement of the event, Race the Tide is designed to promote tourism in West Cumbria, encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore the region's hidden gems.
The castle and its surroundings offered a range of activities for both locals and visitors, including live music, castle tours, yoga, and even a moss fact-finding session. Organisers hope that the event will not only attract runners but also introduce West Cumbria to hundreds of potential repeat visitors.
