Mutiny Leaked on Amazon Prime Video US Before Theatrical Release
A major leak occurred on Amazon Prime Video US when Jason Statham's upcoming film Mutiny became available to stream for at least an hour. The movie, set to hit theaters on August 21st, was fully populated with a cast list, video thumbnail, and a blurb describing the plot. According to the website and marketing materials, Mutiny is only supposed to be released in theaters when it's officially released in two days.
No evidence suggests that this leak was intentional or part of some marketing stunt. The production studios, Punch Palace Productions and MadRiver Pictures, and US distributor Lionsgate are not owned by Amazon. A request for comment has been sent to Amazon.
When Mutiny was added to Prime Video US is unclear. The listing included a detailed description of the plot: 'After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, Cole Reed is set up to take the fall for the crime, leaving him on the run as he works to uncover a conspiracy.'
As of August 19th, the film is no longer available to stream.
